A video-footage of the incident that took place at noon on Wednesday in Piraeus, when a 77-year-old man allegedly attacked two brothers with a trident following an altercation over a parking spot.

The video shows the moment when the two brothers, aged 42 and 38, run in a panic to get away and avoid the elderly man’s attack.
According to the Hellenic PoliceAS.AS., the incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. on 13 Bizaniou Street, when the 77-year-old got into an argument with the two men. The situation escalated, leading him to attempt to injure them using a trident with a total length of 130 centimeters.
Officers from the DI.AS. Unit immediately rushed to the scene, who subdued the 77-year-old and took him to the Municipal Theater Police Station, while also proceeding to seize the trident.
A case file was opened against the elderly man for attempted aggravated assault and violation of the weapons law, and he is expected to be brought before the competent prosecutor.
