An alarm was sounded at noon on Saturday at Fire Department of Euboea regarding a forest fire.
According to initial reports and images coming from the area, the fire broke out in a forest in the area of Almyropotamos and Mesochoria, prompting the immediate mobilization of firefighting forces, with the aim of containing it before it spreads further.
Due to the fire’s spread, a warning message was sent by 112 to residents of the wider area, urging them to remain on high alert and to strictly follow the instructions of the relevant authorities.
Strong ground forces from the Fire Department are operating at the scene, specifically 70 firefighters, 3 teams of foot patrols, and 20 vehicles. Local government water trucks, construction equipment, and volunteers are assisting in the firefighting efforts.
