Christos Chomenidis commented on current political events and focused particularly on Alexis Tsipras.

Specifically, on the podcast hosted by Giorgos Papachristos, Christos Chomenidis was asked to briefly comment on various political figures. Regarding Kyriakos Mitsotakis, he stated that he believes Mitsotakis will be re-elected as prime minister.

As for PASOK, he expressed his regret that a historic party, which, as he claimed, had stood firm during difficult times, has reached such a point and cannot escape its misfortunes. He also expressed his hope that it would rediscover its role and be useful in the future.

A stinging rebuke for Alexis Tsipras

However, when he turned his attention to Alexis Tsipras, the Hellenic Police and SYRIZA, he was particularly harsh. He initially said dismissively that neither he nor society cared about what was happening with the dissolution of SYRIZA and ELAS.

Regarding Alexis Tsipras in particular, he described him as “unprincipled,” explaining that lying to people in need is the worst thing one can do. He also recalled the promises to abolish the memorandum with a single article and emphasized that SYRIZA has brought hostility into Greek society.

Regarding the Hellenic Police, he further commented that the former prime minister is trying to revive nostalgia for the civil war, which the people who had fought in it wanted to leave behind. His tone while speaking about Alexis Tsipras conveyed nothing but disgust.

Finally, he refused to comment politically on Maria Karystianou, noting that he knows what it’s like to lose a child, but he pointedly concluded that he does not consider this a political event.
