The assessment that the military operation in Lebanon has not been completed, Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Kats, said a few hours after the start of the 10-day ceasefire.
As he said, “military ground maneuvers in Lebanon and attacks against Hezbollah have made it possible to achieve many objectives,”while stressing that the operation “is not complete.”
At the same time, he warned of possible new population movements, noting that hundreds of thousands of displaced people returning to the south may have to be redisplaced.
“If fighting continues, those returning to a safe zone will have to be evacuated to complete the mission,” he said.
