At Hope for Democracy led by Maria Karystianou have charted a strategy… for self-sufficiency.
At least that’s what we’ve been hearing lately from all their leaders. Initially, Thanasis Avgerinos claimed that Hope for Democracy could form an alliance with parties of the “old party system” after the elections—a statement that contradicted what Maria Karystianou has been saying. A day later, he retracted his statement, calling for… an absolute majority in the elections.
It appears this will be the party’s strategy: to respond with something utopian so as not to be forced to address the substance of the issue. This comes as no surprise, as the positions of Maria Karystianou are as vague and general as possible, since she fears a communication blunder.
Maria Gratsia, a close associate of Maria Karystianou, who ruled out any cooperation with another party and emphasized that it is a serious possibility that… Hope for Democracy coming in first—and indeed with… a majority. Of course, everyone has the right to believe whatever they wish; however, it is a serious problem that many parties avoid reality because it does not suit them.
Karystianou’s Jeep
In any case, over the past few days, there has been intense discussion on social media about the monstrous SUV belonging to Maria Karistianou, which she uses for her tours. The other day, she was at a hospital and pulled up at the main entrance in a massive SUV that caught everyone’s attention.
The commotion was so great that Thanasis Avgerinos was forced to clarify that the SUV belongs to a… doctor friend of Maria Karystianou who had lent it to her for her travels.
Many on social media commented that the image of the ultra-luxurious SUV doesn’t quite fit a politician who promotes an anti-establishment narrative. On the other hand, we’ve also seen the fabulously wealthy offspring of shipping magnates founding left-wing parties and speaking out against industrial pollution, so all of this is a sign of the times.
