Adonis Georgiadis announced a visit to Psara, highlighting the new Health Center , the residences doctors’ residences, and the State’s historic debt.
The project in Psara and Adonis Georgiadis’s historic gratitude
Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis, speaking on Action24’s “Proini Zoni” on Action24, announced that he plans to visit Psara, noting that an “amazing” Health Center has been established as part of the program to upgrade healthcare infrastructure.
As the minister noted, during the planning of this major upgrade program, he had accepted a proposal from the mayor of Psara, who presented him with a study regarding the construction of a modern and significant Health Center on the island. Mr. Georgiadis noted that he decided to move forward with the project, while at the same time doctors’ residences were built to strengthen the facility’s staffing.
He emphasized that the State has a special moral obligation toward the fishing villages, due to their historical contribution to the War of Independence. As he emphasized, “For Greece to exist today, Psara, as a place, paid a heavy price,” adding that the return of a small part of this historical gratitude by the Hellenic Republic toward the island is a duty and a moral obligation of the State.
