The government’s upcoming initiatives in the field of digital governance were presented by Minister Dimitris Papastergiou, speaking on ERT News, emphasizing the progress of the electronic platform posokanei, new services for citizens, and the use of artificial intelligence in the public sector.

Papastergiou – Over 250,000 users on posokanei

Dimitris Papastergiou described posokanei as an important tool for consumers, clarifying that it cannot, on its own, solve the problem of price accuracy, but it can help citizens compare prices and better organize their purchases.

As he noted, more than 250,000 unique users have already used the platform, and new features will be added in the near future that will allow for even more accurate comparisons between products available at supermarkets.

New Digital Services and AI in the Public Sector

The Minister of Digital Governance revealed that a new unified digital request platform is being planned, through which citizens will be able to track the progress of their cases in real time within the public sector.

With a unique request number, users will know who is handling their case, what stage it is in, and the estimated time for its completion. At the same time, the automated search for supporting documents is being expanded, reducing red tape for citizens.

Dimitris Papastergiou also mentioned the collaboration with a European artificial intelligence to upgrade the government’s digital assistant, which will be able to converse more naturally with citizens and provide more accurate answers regarding services and procedures.

Age verification for scooters and 99% completion of the Land Registry

The Ministry of Digital Governance’s upcoming plans include the development of an age verification mechanism for the use of electric scooters, so that they can only be activated once it is confirmed that the user meets the required age limit.

Referring to the Land Registry, the minister noted that cadastral mapping has now reached 99%, with the remaining outstanding issues mainly concerning areas of the Northern Aegean and Corfu.

Finally, he emphasized that the Land Registry’s infrastructure has been migrated to the cloud, which enhances the speed and reliability of services, while the goal remains to address errors and delays, with a target completion date of 2027.
