Significant contacts in Washington were made by Kyriakos Pierrakakis, on the sidelines of the IMF, where he met with Director General Kristalina Georgieva.

During the meeting, the focus was on the impact of the energy crisis and the challenges for the global economy in an environment of heightened uncertainty.

The Minister Minister of Economy and Finance and Chairman of the Eurogroup presented the positive course of the Greek economy, highlighting the stable growth, fiscal responsibility and strengthening of the country’s resilience.

Recall that Georgieva has noted in recent statements that Greece is now among the best performing economies in Europe, a recognition that reflects the country’s improving international credibility.

As part of the proceedings, the Greek minister also attended the dinner hosted by the IMF chief in honour of the finance ministers, where he had the opportunity to exchange views with his counterparts on international developments and prospects for cooperation.
