Visit to the Operations Control Center for Lines 2 & 3 of the Metro at Syntagma and at the STASY Control and Safety Center was conducted today by the Deputy Minister of Transportation, George Kotsiras.

Mr. Kotsiras was accompanied by the Secretary General of Transportation, Stelios Sakaretios, OASA CEO Antonis Kerastaris, and STASY CEO Athanasios Kottaras.

During his visit, Mr. Kotsaras was briefed on the Metro’s operational management and safety systems, including remote control systems, real-time traffic monitoring and video surveillance.

He also met with men and women from the Greek Police’s “Ariadne” project, who operate daily on the Attica public transit system to prevent criminal behavior and enhance passenger safety.

At Syntagma Station, the Deputy Minister visited the library, which is open to the public, and then boarded Metro Line 2; from Syntagmato Omonia. During the visit , Mr. Kotsiras spoke with citizens and employees about their daily experiences on the Metro.

After the visit, Mr. Kotsiras stated: “Today I had the opportunity to learn about the procedures that ensure the Metro’s seamless operation and to thank the employees for their critical contribution to the smooth operation of the.
