Michalis Dimitrakopoulos described the case of Dimitris Avramopoulos as a “blunder” and a “bubble,” comparing it to the Qatargate and the Kaïli case.

The same offenses as in the Kaïli case, says Dimitrakopoulos

On the show “Behind the Lines” on Action24, lawyer Michalis Dimitrakopoulos discussed the case of Dimitris Avramopoulos, arguing that the charges against him are identical to those that had been brought against Eva Kaili in the context of Qatargate.

As he noted, these involve the offenses of participation in a criminal organization, corruption, and money laundering. According to him, in the case of Kaïli, four years have passed without any definitive progress in the case.

Reference to Libération and Belgium-gate

Dimitrakopoulos also claimed that in the case of Avramopoulos, the funds under investigation were declared and taxed, expressing the view that the case constitutes “a blunder.”

At the same time, he cited an article in Libération report, according to which Qatargate has evolved into “Belgium-gate”, noting that even investigative officials are currently under investigation in connection with the case. Concluding his remarks, he described the case as “yet another bubble.”
