Ioanna Mandrou, speaking on the show “EDO* on ONE, referred to the steps that the head of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, Laura Kovesi, regarding the renewal of the terms of the Greek European prosecutors.

According to her, Kovesi is seeking to obtain the potential negative ruling from the Supreme Court, so that the relevant proceedings at the national level are exhausted and she can then consider the possibility of appealing to the European Court of Justice.

However, the journalist pointed out that for such a process to move forward, Kovesi would have to go through the European Commission, which is an essential link in the process of filing an appeal against a member state.

As reported, legal and judicial circles believe that it is extremely difficult for the European Commission to take action against Greece on this specific issue, which concerns the fact that the term of office of the Greek European prosecutors was extended for two years rather than five, as had been the subject of the disagreement.
