The office of the European Public Prosecutor is being reinforced with three new European Public Prosecutor’s Office in Athens.
By unanimous decision of the Supreme Judicial Council, Appellate Prosecutor Dimitris Zimianitis, who also serves as the press spokesperson for the Athens Appellate Prosecutor’s Office, and First Instance Prosecutors Dimitris Nomikos and Dimitris Apostolas are assuming the duties of European Delegated Prosecutors and will assist their 10 colleagues at the Greek office in investigations concerning offenses against the interests of the European Union.
The Administrative Council also selected alternates: Olympia Kleitsaki from the Court of Appeals Prosecutor’s Office and, from the Court of First Instance Prosecutor’s Office, Domenikos-Theologos Deliveis and Maria Rigopoulou from the First Instance Prosecutor’s Office.
The issue of strengthening the Greek office of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office with three additional prosecutors and six court clerks was raised during the two meetings held in October 2025 and last April between Laura Kovesi and MinisterJustice Minister Giorgos Floridis; the Greek side agreed and set the relevant procedures in motion
