If anything emerges from the polls, it is that citizens seeking stability and a vision for the future are choosing to support Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The silent majority— the citizens who shy away from shouting and commotion—the working people of Greece, as they say—desire stability and a sense of direction. And these, as the polls show across the board, are offered by Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who has remained a dominant figure on the political scene for 10 consecutive years, that is, since the first months following his election as president of New Democracy.
It is telling that the upheavals in the political landscape caused by the emergence of new parties—such as, for example, the personality-driven party of Alexis Tsipras– are affecting the Left and creating problems for parties such as PASOK, SYRIZA, Plevsi Eleftherias, and MERA25.
In other words, it influences a political space that aligns with the logic of “Mitsotakis must go” and, within this framework, is seeking a figure to oppose him, while showing no interest in programs, proposals, or alternative solutions regarding the present and future of the country and all its citizens.
Citizens who choose this vision know that it can be achieved through stability and security, and they are the ones who cast a vote of confidence in Kyriakos Mitsotakis and New Democracy, which has a plan and a vision for Greece in 2030, while also having a proven track record through the implementation of the program to which it had committed prior to the elections of 2023.
It is also worth noting that the ruling party remains unaffected by the shifts in second and third place in the polls. On the contrary, it appears to have a reserve of voters who are awaiting its next initiatives and moves. In fact, it has a larger pool than that of EL.A.S., led by Alexis Tsipras, which currently ranks second.
