The lawyer Tatiana Douvara, speaking on the show “Today” on SKAI, argued that recently, following the tightening of the Penal Code, there has been a more frequent use of pretrial detention of minors.
As he noted, there was recently a drug trafficking case involving minors, while in a separate case minors were taken into custody and sent to reform schools.
According to her, juvenile investigating judges are now beginning to resort to extreme measure of pretrial detention, with the aim, as she said, of having a reasoning effect on juvenile offenders.
