87-year-old Charitini Anagnostopoulou, who lost her two children in a car accident, donated an ambulance worth 120,000 euros to EKAV .
A Gift of Life – An act of profound humanity
A unique act of generosity and humanity was carried out by Charitini Anagnostopoulou, who donated a state-of-the-art mobile unit ambulance to the EKAV in Patras. According to information from thebest.gr, the value of the donation amounts to 120,000 euros.
The new ambulance was handed over at a special event held at the facilities of EKAV, in the presence of representatives of the healthcare community of Patras and Western Greece.
During the ceremony, the president of EKAV, George Charalambous, praised the donor’s valuable contribution, while also acknowledging the contribution of the Achaia Volunteer Firefighters Association, which provided training equipment to enhance the training of rescuers.
From Personal Tragedy to a Gift of Life
The donation by Charitini Anagnostopoulou takes on even greater significance because of her personal story. In 1992, she lost her two children in car accident on the Patras – Corinth.
Despite the unbearable pain of her loss, the 87-year-old chose to transform her personal tragedy into a great act of social service, actively supporting the public health system and the work of EKAV.
