The Greek Prime Minister spoke of a great moment for Greece, as Golemis, a space mission physician, will become the first Greek to participate in a space mission, as part of the event “Greece in Orbit—Greece in Space: The Next Day.”
“To infinity and beyond. Greece Enters Orbit. For the first time in its history, Greece is taking its next big step. Not on Earth, but in space. Until now, Greece has been sending satellites into space. But today, it is preparing to send a Greek as well. We have decided to take a historic step: to send the first Greek astronaut into orbit,” said Kyriakos Mitsotakis, among other things, in the video.
In the caption accompanying the video , the prime minister writes: “Adrianos will be in space for the next two years. It is an investment we are making as a country, one with both symbolic and practical value.”
