A fire broke out on Saturday morning (June 27) in the area of Pelasgia Beach in the municipality of Stylida.
Significant ground and aerial forces are operating at the scene, while strong winds are hampering efforts to contain the fire front.
The fire broke out shortly after 9:30 a.m. at the location “Pelagia Beach”, in the municipality of Stylida, prompting an immediate response from the Fire Department.
The fire is burning low vegetation within agricultural land and, according to current information, does not threaten homes or other infrastructure. Significant resources were deployed from the very beginning to contain its spread.

Working to extinguish the fire are 30 firefighters, a team from the 4th EMODE infantry unit, as well as 10 fire trucks. Air support is being provided by two aircraft and one helicopter, while local government water tankers are also participating in the operation.
The firefighting efforts are being hampered by strong winds in the area, which are fueling the spread of the fire.
Drone and investigation into the causes of the fire
