Greece’s top female tennis player spoke not only about her career on the courts but also about her personal life, focusing on her relationship with Konstantinos Mitsotakis and their upcoming wedding.
The moment she realized he was the love of her life
When asked when she felt that Konstantinos Mitsotakis was the man with whom she wanted to share her future, Maria Sakkari replied: “It was a long time ago. During the first three or four months of our relationship. Actually, he came to see me play at the French Open in 2021.
Creating memories from the very beginning of your relationship is very important, and we’re bound by some very special moments. And thatsummer we spent together in Crete, I felt like, “Oh my God,” I never want to lose this guy in my whole life. He’s the one. I told him I’d been in love with him ever since we started officially dating. I felt like there was something different about him. When you know, you know—and I knew. I’m so lucky.”
Wedding preparations and the hundreds of guests
The conversation also turned to the wedding of the couple, with the famous tennis player revealing that preparations are already underway.
“Come on, don’t ask. You know what Greek weddings are like. We’re planning a ‘small” wedding with 500–600 guests. It’s going to be wonderful, and I’m so excited.”
Shortly afterward, Maria Sakkari showed the camera her engagement ring, clearly happy and eager for the new chapter she is about to begin in her personal life.
