A 21-year-old lifeguard remains hospitalized after was injured in Kavala when strong winds struck a beach in Nea Iraklitsa, causing the lifeguard tower to collapse.
More specifically, a lifeguard was injured in Nea Iraklitsa, Kavala, when the lifeguard tower on the beach collapsed due to severe weather conditions.
The 21-year-old lifeguard was immediately transported to the General Hospital of Kavala to receive first aid and remains hospitalized.
Yesterday afternoon, the Kavala Central Port Authority was notified that lifeguard towers on the beaches of Nea Iraklitsa, “Glastres” in Palio, Kalamitsa, and “Perigiali” in Kavala, due to the strong winds that prevailed in the area.
A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Kavala Central Port Authority.
