A fierce attack against Alexis Tsipras was launched in a post by Nikos Karanikas in a post, using particularly harsh language against the former prime minister, his inner circle, and his political career.
Specifically, he states: “As we can see, Tsipras and his office tried to find out which officials from other parties were badmouthing him but are actually his subordinates, who are scrambling for power and privileges, and he has appointed them to his “IX” faction.”
Elsewhere, he refers to “political leftovers”, arguing that the new political formation was not built on principles or ideas, but on personal ambitions and relationships of dependence.
“The IX Party and the Faces of Power”
A former associate of Alexis Tsipras argues that the officials currently by his side did not emerge from the difficult periods of SYRIZA but emerged when the party came to power.
As he writes: “The specific second-rate officials he has by his side were not among those who stood by him from the beginning, before he came to power, during the hard times—those who were unambitious, selfless, dignified, and visionary.”
At the same time, he characterizes the political project of Alexis Tsipras as a “car party”, while referring to people who act as sycophants and seek personal gain.
The forecast for the political future of Alexis Tsipras
In the final part of his post, Nikos Karanikas assesses that Alexis Tsipras has lost his political judgment and attributes his stance to a desire to return to power.
He notably states: “Tsipras is consumed by his desperation to return to the Maximos Mansion. His vision has become clouded.”
In fact, it predicts that the next election will mark the definitive end of his political career.
As it notes: “The next ‘divorce’ will come with the next election defeat, in which he will garner fewer voters than in 2023… It will be a divorce from politics.”
In closing, he argues that the values of the Left, as he describes them, cannot be expressed by the people currently surrounding Alexis Tsipras, concluding that: “Memory, dignity, the moral high ground, values, principles, and history are not represented by the remnants of the oligarchs and the feudal lord.”
