A new, second, fire broke out today in an agricultural and forested area in Petra, Boeotia.

According to the fire department, the fire, shortly after approximately 1:30 p.m., is burning near homes, and at 2:30 p.m., a message was issued by 112 instructing residents of the Petra area to evacuate toward Livadia.

The fire has already reached the settlement and is threatening the first house, while a large contingent of firefighters is battling the strong winds. The operation involves 45 firefighters, including 2 foot patrol teams from the 4th EMODE, 13 vehicles, 6 aircraft, and one helicopter, while construction machinery and water tankers from the Region of Central Greece are providing support.

According to the fire risk map, the area is in risk category 4, and very strong winds are blowing.

According to the fire department, firefighters are making every effort to contain the fire, and throughout the incident, ESKEDIK is receiving continuous footage from the drone via visual and thermal cameras.

In addition, the Boeotia Arson Crimes Investigation Unit has arrived at the scene of the fire to investigate its causes.

At the same time, the situation regarding the fire that broke out on Saturday morning shortly after 11:00 a.m. in a forested area in Agios Vasileios, Boeotia, is improving. In fact, at 12:10 p.m., a message was sent from 112 to residents in the area urging them to remain on alert.

According to the fire department, so far, no homes or infrastructure are threatened, and despite adverse conditions with wind gusts reaching 6 Beaufort, firefighting crews are making every effort to contain the blaze.

The fire is burning in a forested area, which necessitated the immediate deployment of both ground and aerial resources to contain it. The response has now been reinforced, with 70 firefighters operating alongside 3 ground teams from the 4th EMODE and 20 vehicles, while three aircraft and three helicopters are operating from the air, one of which is coordinating their efforts. At the same time, water tankers from the Region of Central Greece are providing support.

Meanwhile, a team from the Boeotia Investigative Department is heading to the fire area to investigate its causes.

Alarm also in Nafpaktos: Fire in Kato Mamoulada

A fire broke out shortly after 1:30 p.m. in Kato Mamoulada, Nafpaktos, Aetolia-Acarnania. According to the fire department, the fire has not yet threatened any homes or infrastructure.

Fifty firefighters, along with two ground teams from the 6th EMODE and 14 vehicles, are working to contain the fire, while two aircraft and one helicopter are operating from the air. At the same time, local government water tankers are providing assistance.

The aerial assets are facing difficulties in their water drops, as there are high-voltage power lines in the area where the fire is burning.

Throughout the incident, the Unified Operations and Crisis Management Coordination Center (ESKEDIK) has been receiving continuous footage from the drone via visual and thermal cameras, while the Investigative Team of the Aetolia-Acarnania Arson Crimes Division has gone to the area of the fireto investigate its causes.
