A newborn was rescued from the rubble of a collapsed building, 32 hours after the two seismic tremors that devastated Venezuela.
A video obtained by the French News Agency shows rescuers working under floodlights, on top of a pile of rubble and pulling the infant out amid applause late last night in the country’s hardest-hit city, La Guaira.

According to the user who posted the video on social media, the baby, just 18 days old, emerged unharmed from the rubble after being trapped for 32 hours. The infant’s mother was rescued an hour later.
It should be noted that at least 920 people have been killed following the two consecutive earthquakes that struck on Wednesday in the northern part of the country, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, while thousands more have been injured. More than 54,000 people are missing.
