Tensions between Washington and Tehran escalated again early Sunday morning, with both sides accusing each other of violating the ceasefire agreed upon on June 17.
According to CENTCOM, U.S. fighter jets struck ten targets in Iran, targeting military surveillance facilities, communications systems, air defense systems, drone depots, and infrastructure related to mine-laying capabilities.
Meanwhile, explosions were reported in the Sirik region of southern Iran. State television IRIB reported that a telecommunications tower was hit, while missiles also struck a village on the island of Kesm, though there is no information on casualties so far.

The U.S. military claims that the attacks are a response to recent actions by Tehran against commercial ships in the Persian Gulf, claiming that Iran chose not to honor the ceasefire.
Iran’s retaliation with missiles and drones
A few hours later, the Revolutionary Guards announced that they had launched missiles and drones against U.S. military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain, describing the U.S. operation as a direct violation of the ceasefire agreement.

“This violation of the ceasefire contravenes Article 1 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of Islamabad and will lead to a complete suspension of all diplomatic proceedings,” according to a statement broadcast by Press TV.
The Revolutionary Guards further asserted that “destroyed eight key U.S. military facilities at the Ali al-Salem base in Kuwait and at the 5th Fleet base in Salman Port, Bahrain“.
In the same statement, they warned that: “Any hostile attack, regardless of pretext, even against insignificant targets (…) will be met with a relentless response.”
The armed forces of Kuwait confirmed the missile and drone attacks, while in Bahrain, air raid sirens were activated, and authorities urged citizens to remain in safe shelters.
Kuwaiti air defenses are currently repelling missile attacks and hostile drones.
The Army General Staff notes that any sounds of explosions heard are the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile attacks.

Trump’s Strong Message – Reactions from Hezbollah and Israel
In a post on the platform Truth Social, the president of the U.S., Donald Trump, defended American businesses and issued a new threat against Tehran.
“U.S. aircraft have just struck Iranian missile and drone depots, as well as coastal radar sites, in yet another violation of the ceasefire agreement”.
He then added: “There may come a time (…) when we will be forced to complete militarily the task we began with great success.”
And he concluded with a statement that raises the stakes even further: “If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist.”
At the same time, Hezbollah launched an attack. The organization’s leader, Naim Qassem, described it as “humiliating, shameful, and a betrayal of national sovereignty.”
For his part, the prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, spoke of “historic agreement,” arguing that it constitutes “a blow to Iran and Hezbollah“.
In contrast, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, denounced the agreement, calling it “huge mistake” and stating that only the Israeli army can neutralize the weapons of Hezbollah
