A new political controversy was sparked by the statements made by Theodora Tzakri regarding the interview given by Adonis Georgiadis to Stefanos Kasselakis. The MP made it clear that she had not been informed of or asked about this initiative and stated that she does not agree with it.

Her statement did not go unanswered. The Minister of Health responded via a social media post, defended the public debate with Stefanos Kasselakis, and launched an attack against the MP, while also commenting on speculation about her return to PASOK.

“I wasn’t asked; I don’t agree”

During her appearance on a television program on OPEN, Theodora Tzakri was asked to comment on Adonis Georgiadis’s interview with Stefanos Kasselakis.

Her response was clear: “I wasn’t asked; it’s not something I agree with.”

Adonis Georgiadis’s post

A short while later, the Minister of Health published a lengthy post in which he defended the interview, arguing that it was an example of political civility.

As he stated: “…and yet this discussion went extremely well, and I believe it highlighted a political culture that we ultimately need—and which Ms. Tzachri obviously does not understand, as she apparently struggles with foreign languages….”

In the same post, Adonis Georgiadis made an extensive reference to Theodora Tzakri’s political career, from PASOK to SYRIZA and then to the party of Stefanos Kasselakis.

At the same time, he sarcastically commented on the rumors of her return to PASOK, writing: “…they’ll have to change so they can bring her back to PASOK, lest they lose such a gem…”

The minister’s post concluded with another jab at Harilaou Trikoupi, expressing his skepticism about the possibility of Theodora Tzakri returning to the party.
