A total of three people were injured during fire that broke out at a hotel in Omonia.
According to the latest reports, at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, an ambulance transported the 40-year-old Iranian man, who suffered severe burns and is the most seriously injured, to the “Red Cross” Hospital
He has burns on his hands and neck. He has inhalation burns, has been intubated, and is expected to be transferred to the Thriassio Burn Unit.
A few minutes later, the 50-year-old Egyptian man arrived; he has minor head injuries. In his attempt to save himself from the fire, he hit his head on a flowerpot.
Meanwhile, a third person who was in the hotel at the time of the fire was transported to Sotiria Hospital without any major complications, suffering from mild respiratory issues.

A fire alarm at a hotel in Omonia went off around noon on Sunday (June 28).
At the time the fire broke out, it is estimated that there were approximately 100 guests inside the hotel. Thick smoke “engulfed” the entire building and the surrounding area, though the fire was brought under control within half an hour by the large firefighting forces that rushed to the scene immediately.
According to information reported by ERT, citing eyewitnesses, the fire is believed to have been caused by an electric scooter that was charging.
