“Our army is ready to immediately resume offensive operations in both Lebanon and Iran, should this become necessary”, emphasized the Chief of the General Staff of Israel, Eyal Zamir.
Specifically regarding Lebanon, Eyal Zamir said: “The agreement signed with the Lebanese government is historic and particularly significant.” Speaking about military planning, Eyal Zamir emphasized: “The operational strength and military achievements of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in recent months have created the conditions that made this possible. We will abide by the agreement and work to ensure its success.” “Now, the test lies in the actions of both sides, and the coming period will shape the future,” he added.
At the same time, Eyal Zamir argued that “Hezbollah has been significantly weakened and that its fighters have been confined to underground facilities.” “The Israel Defense Forces maintain operational control of the area (i.e., Lebanon) and are on high alert, ready to launch “immediate and decisive strikes in the event of a violation of the ceasefire agreement.”
Finally, Eyal Zamir also expressed his conviction that the Israeli Army brigades “played a decisive role in shaping the conditions that led to the agreement with Lebanon.”
