Sweeping inspections were carried out by the Traffic Police Thessaloniki from Friday night (17/04) to Saturday morning (18/04), with the authorities confirming a total of 811 violations of the KOK.

At the same time, there were four arrests of drivers found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.

Of the total number of offences, 287 involved speeding, while 259 were related to illegal parking. Furthermore, 61 truck violations, 13 for noise emission and 10 cases of drunkenness were recorded.

Drivers arrested:

Three people were arrested by the Traffic Accident Control and Prevention Team in the area of Eyosmos, while another arrest was made by officers of the Oraiokastro Police Department.

The arrested men were driving personal vehicles under the influence of alcohol and are expected to be taken to the prosecutor of Thessaloniki Petty Magistrate.

These checks were carried out at key points in the city, with the aim of tackling dangerous driving. The data shows high levels of offences, particularly speeding and parking, but also the presence of drink-driving.
