The work salvage of the firefighting helicopter Bell 214 B from Lake Aoos have been completed. A crane truck retrieved the helicopter from the water and brought it ashore.
Crews of engineers removed the fuel and the water tank located at the bottom of the helicopter and connected to the water intake system. It will then be loaded onto a truck and transported to Ioannina at a police headquarters facility, where experts will examine the mechanical parts of the helicopter.
This morning, the divers successfully managed to lift the helicopter using air balloons and stabilize it.
The Bell 214B helicopter crashed into Lake Aoos on Thursday (06/25/26) while attempting to scoop water to extinguish a fire.
