Another incident of attacks on Indian-flagged ships attempting to cross the Seaway of Hormuz occurred earlier today.

The incident follows today’s Iranian fire attack on a British-flagged ship. It is a dangerous escalation, tas Iran moves to completely blockade the Strait of Hormuz just four hours after the end of the ceasefire with the US.

According to a statement from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, “two Indian-flagged ships carrying crude oil were attacked today while trying to cross the Strait of Hormuz.”

Tehran’s ambassador to New Delhi Mohammad Fattali was summoned to a meeting with the foreign minister of India, Vikram Mishri, during which the latter conveyed to him “India’s deep concern over the firing incident involving two Indian-flagged ships in the Straits of Hormuz“.

Vikram Mishri urged the ambassador to convey India’s views to the Iranian authorities and resume the process of facilitating the passage of India-bound ships through the Straits of Hormuz as soon as possible.
