The issue of bribes remains one of the most deeply rooted pathologies of Greek society and political life as Pavlos Marinakis says in video on Facebook.
As he underlines, old practices do not end with fine words but with politics that have a real effect. For years the opposition has been consumed in proclamations without any real contribution to changes that touch the daily lives of citizens.
How many people have not had to use means to secure a bed in a medical facility or to expedite the process of getting a synod? How many have not sought intervention to write off a ticket or settle cases that should normally be run transparently and equitably?
The opposition has discovered the wheel and fed us in post-revolution Greece with words.
The need for a state that works without dependencies is highlighted through reforms such as the digital statechanges in education, transfers of students and the management of agricultural subsidies through OPEKEPE. The question is how many of these changes were supported in practice by the opposition parties and how much they contributed to effectively addressing the buffers.
