Development Minister Takis Theodoricakos referred to the request made by opposition parties for an early call to the polls, clarifying: “Early elections cannot be held in the middle of a war.”
Speaking to Action 24, the development minister said the war that has broken out in our wider neighbourhood requires vigilance, quick decisions and also reminded that by the summer we should have closed billions of euros worth of projects from the Recovery Fund. “These facts do not allow holding elections,” he noted.
Theodoricakos also referred to the results of the polls that are seeing the light of day, noting that “what you see in the polls will not have anything to do with what you will see in the elections.”
“When election time comes, the dilemmas will be set out in a straightforward manner, particularly who is the one who can lead the country safely into 2030,” he said. Theodoricakos said and estimated that the policy of the Southwest will be approved by the citizens.
“ND will be the first party and I believe that no more than six parties will enter Parliament, the development minister also said.
