The 11th Delphi Economic Forum begins its work today, Wednesday 22 April 2026, for the 11th consecutive year, in the city of Delphi.
For four days, until Saturday 25 April, more than 1,200 speakers from all fields will analyse the transformations that are radically changing our world. These include European Council President Antonio Costa, European Commission Vice-President Teresa Ribera and five other European Commissioners.
The title of this year’s meeting “The Shock of the New”, brings into focus the new reality created by technological change, the climate crisis and the new balances emerging in the geopolitical arena with a focus on Europe’s relations with the US and the Middle East.
During the 11th Delphi Economic Forum, more than 200 debates, 25 closed sessions and six roundtable discussions are scheduled, including government officials, high-level officials of international organisations, academics and leading representatives of the business world.
The Forum will be opened by the President of the Hellenic Republic, Constantine Tasoulas. The plenary session of the first day will close with a dialogue between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa. A series of discussions between top Greek government ministers and European Commissioners will also take place during the Forum. The Minister of Economy and Finance and President of the Eurogroup, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, will hold talks with the Commissioner for Economic Affairs and Productivity, Vladis Dombrovskis. The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Dimas, with the Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas. The Minister of Environment and Energy,Stavros Papastavrou will hold talks with the Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Clean, Fair and Competitive Transition, Teresa Ribera.
Discussions at the 11th Delphi Economic Forum will also include EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos, Fisheries and Oceans Commissioner Costas Kadis and Mediterranean Commissioner Dubravka Šuica.
Vice Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis will discuss the growth model that the Greek economy should follow with the Secretary General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Mathias Cormann. Also participating in the Forum will be Pierre Gramegna, Director General of the European Stability Mechanism, Gelsomina Viglioti and Ioannis Tsakiris, Vice Presidents of the European Investment Bank (EIB), as well as officials from the European Central Bank and the World Bank.
For another year, the Delphi Economic Forum is hosting leading political personalities such as President of the Republic of Estonia Alar Karis, the President of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović, the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama and His Excellency Prince Albert II of Monaco.
Also present at the Forum will be more than 20 sitting ministers from around the world, as well as personalities who have made their mark on the international political scene, including Turkey’s 11th President Abdullah Gül, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, former European Council Presidents Herman Van Rompuy and Charles Michel, and former European Commissioner for Finance and former Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni.
The Forum’s discussions will also feature the heads and senior executives of all the major Greek business groups, the chairmen and CEOs of major banks and Greek and foreign CEOs of multinational companies in Greece.
