Our country’s impressive results in reforms, debt evolution and unemployment was mentioned by European Commissioner, Vladis Dombrovskis, during his meeting with Prime Minister, Kyriacos Mitsotakis.
As he stressed, “the Greece has a strong track record in implementing reforms and addressing the long-term structural challenges it faces, with impressive results if you look at both the evolution of debt and unemployment.”
Certifying his positive comments, he said Greece’s GDP increased by about 13.4% compared to 2018. Debt has fallen by almost 43% of GDP from its pre-COVID high in 2018. Unemployment has also fallen dramatically from a high of 28% in mid-2013 to 8.4% at the end of last year.
“This is therefore a remarkable recovery in every respect,” the European commissioner noted.
