The launch of a dinternational tender process for the development of 22 regional airports in the country was approved yesterday by the board of the Superfund.
The utilisation of the regional airports, which are currently managed by the Civil Aviation Authority, will be carried out by awarding a concession contract lasting around 40 years. The tender is starting immediately and will be conducted in two phases: the first phase will involve an expression of interest and the second phase will involve the submission of binding offers by the pre-selected investment schemes.
The closing date for expressions of interest has been set forTuesday 30 June 2026.
The concession of the 22 regional airports will contribute to upgrading their infrastructure and operational capabilities, improving the services provided, while enhancing the country’s regional development and connectivity.
The 22 Regional Airports,which are to be developed through a single set of assets (cluster), are: Alexandroupolis, Araxos, Astypalea, Astypalaia, Ikaria, Ioannina, Kalymnos, Karpathos, Karpathos, Kasos, Kastelorizo, Kastoria, Kozani, Kythira, Leros, Lemnos, Milos, Naxos, Naxos, Nea Anchialos, Paros, Sitia, Skyros, Syros and Chios.
In the tender for the development of the regional airports, the State Treasury has appointed TRAPEZA EUROBANK S.A. as Financial Advisor, Doxiadis Associates as Technical and Traffic Advisor, Maria I. GOLFINOPOULOU-KATERINA A. CHRISTODOULOU LAW COMPANY (“Your Legal Partners” or “YLP”) and DRAKOPOULOS & VASALAKIS LAW COMPANY (“DVLaw”) as Legal Advisors in connection with the tender process and the transaction.
