Intubated in the Intensive Care Unit of hospital”Eyaggelismos” is the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, Giorgos Mylonakis, after suffering a ruptured aneurysm.
According to the latest medical bulletin issued, his condition remains critical. As his treating physicians have stressed that they are closely monitoring his health, his hospitalization is expected to last at least 10 to 15 days.
The coming period is considered critical so that the condition can be more accurately assessed. As the interventional neuroradiologist who operated on Giorgos Mylonakis, Evtichios Archontakis, had told ERT the day after the incident, the patient must overcome the already existing bleeding and the possible complications it entails.
The treating doctors, however, expect – apart from minor complications, which are treated immediately and ad hoc by the doctors and nurses of the ICU of “Evangelismos” – even the 14th day of Giorgos Mylonakis’ hospitalization in the ICU, hoping that the patient would not develop a final secondary ischemic episode, which would constitute a major complication.
