Today the European Public Prosecutor Laura Covesi at the Delphi Forum cited the bad texts on corruptionin Greece at the level of laws.
In her conversation with Pavlos Tsima she stood on two different laws.
For the first she said “we were shocked at the beginning. If someone commits fraud in Greece, steals €1,000,000, is caught and then returns the money, he remains free. How does this work? It was a shock to us.”
So let’s explain to Ms. Covesi how and when this happened: on 12/23/2010 the PASOK of Evangelos Venizelos brings Law 3904/2010 (also signed by Venizelos), which provides that if someone has withdrawn money but returns it, then he is not prosecuted.
For the second law, things are even simpler, since it cited Art.86 and the law on ministerial responsibility. That is, for the spiritual child of Mr. Venizelos.
That is, in the systemic cover for corruption with convenient laws he found two for two Mr. Venizelos.
At the Delphi Economic Forum – and not the Order, as Ms. Covesi jokingly said – Mr. Venizelos was also invited yesterday. We assume that he will have spoken about the rule of law, ethics, institutionalism, transparency, etc.
