A head-on confrontation took place in the Parliament between the president of PASOK Nikos Androulakis and Minister of Development Takis Theodorikakos.
The Theodorikakos accused the PASOK president of attempting to collectively portray the ND as corrupt, asking him to recant. “Take back that we are corrupt,” he said, referring to a “alazonic attitude“, while calling on Androulakis, if he has evidence, to submit it to the judiciary.
At the same time, he stressed that the waiver of immunity does not constitute guilt, noting that the MPs themselves asked to be investigated, confirming – as he said – the respect of the New Democracy Party towards Justice and the European Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The development minister insisted that the OPEKEPE is a perennial problem and that the point is to recover money where there are irregularities, stressing that “no one is accused of stealing money or knowingly contributing to it.”
