Talking to CNN Greece on the sidelines of the Delphi Economic Forum, Marios Themistokleoys stressed that Emergency Departments are the “gateway” to National Health System, making patient service time critical.
As he explained, the improvement was achieved through targeted recruitment of medical and nursing staff, but also by expanding the space of the ICUs in order to upgrade the conditions for patients and employees.
She also made special reference to the electronic tracking system (“bracelet”), which allows the identification of delays and the dynamic reallocation of staff, helping to reduce waiting times.
He noted that of the renovations of the 156 health centres, more than half have already been completed, stressing that these are fully modernised structures, with modern equipment and upgraded infrastructure.
