The President of France Emanuel Macron arrived in Athens, kicking off a visit with a strong geopolitical footprint.
The French president was greeted at Eleftherios Venizelos airport by Kostis Hatzidakis.
The visit comes at a time of heightened international challenges, with the agenda focusing on deepening Greek-French cooperation, particularly in the fields of defence, energy and European policy.
The focus of the talks is the renewal of the defence agreement, the arms programmes and Europe’s role in the new security environment.
Around 19:30, Emanuel Macron will have a talk with Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Roman Agora of Athens.
