At 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be welcomed at the Maximou Mansionthe Emir of Katar, in the framework of an official meeting of diplomatic and economic interest.

Greece’s role as a force for stability in the wider region and as a reliable partner – at a particularly difficult time for the Gulf countries – is underlined by visit of the Emiral of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Athens and his meeting with Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday at the Maximou Mansion.

Greece, a partner of all the countries in the region, condemned from the very first moment the attacks against the Gulf countries and offered support and solidarity. During the visit of the Emir of Qatar, regional developments and efforts for a diplomatic solution are expected to be discussed, as well as thestrengthening of bilateral relations with a focus on the economy and investment, particularly in the energy sector. It is recalled that the Qatar Investment Authority has already committed to invest 1 billion in Greece.

Cabinet agenda

At 16:00, the Cabinet meeting will be held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office at Megaro Maximou, with an agenda that includes a number of strategic and legislative initiatives.

-Presentation by the Minister of Justice Giorgos Floridis and the Deputy Minister Giannis Bougas of the legislative initiatives of the Ministry of Justice: (a) Court Buildings and Digital Infrastructure Financing Fund, (b) Measures for the protection of persons who engage in public participation actions from strategic lawsuits to discourage public participation – Incorporation of Directive 2024/1069,

-Presentation by the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni of the bill for the establishment of a Professional School of Cinema and Audiovisual Creation,

-Representation by the Minister of National Economy and Finance Kyriacos Pierrakakisand the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Konstantinos Kyranakis on the adoption of the Act of the Council of Ministers on the classification of the railway accident of 28 February 2023 as a case of particular social importance and on the application of Article 11 of Law No. 5293/2026 on the non-exercise of legal remedies and on the waiver of legal remedies exercised,

-Presentation by the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni on the development of the audiovisual creative economy in Greece,

-Representation by the Minister of National Economy and Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis on the approval of the report of the Public Debt Management Agency for the year 2025.
