Aki Skertsos has defended the governance model from Nafplio, sending a message of unity to the internal party.
“Our concern is to make the revolution of the obvious,” he said, explaining that the goal is policies that reach every home, whether in Athens and Thessaloniki or in the most remote mountainous and island regions.
He insisted that the executive state is the key tool for faster and more effective interventions, which reduce inequalities and improve the daily lives of citizens.
“The executive state serves exactly that. We do not promise the sky with stars. Mitsotakis is a political realist, of compositions, trying to move the country forward. The executive state is the custodian, the effort we make, the methodology we have to be consistent. Keeping our commitments. And when we can do what we committed to, explain why and correct our mistakes. An executive state is a cooperative state that works as a team and does not work in fiefdoms or in fiefdoms where each minister does whatever comes to his head,” Aki Skertosos said.
As the minister went on to say, “Our rival is the problems. Our adversary is not the parties that are practicing a cheap opposition. And we are not an internal opponent either. Move with unity within, our enemy is not within. Our opponent is outside is the problems and together we can give coordinated solutions to the problems.”
Referring to road safety data, he said that Greece recorded the second largest reduction in Europe in the loss of human lives from road accidents. “148 people returned home and to their families,” he stressed, attributing the result to the coordination of different sectors of the state.
Specifically, he referred to cooperation between the Traffic Police and the ministries of Digital Governance and Interior, noting that although such synergies are considered self-evident, in practice they require systematic effort.
In conclusion, Skertssos noted that the government’s main goal is “the revolution of the obvious” in the functioning of the state, noting that this direction is being implemented through the model of the executive state.
