The special dirt road race “Koutouki trail run” organized by the Municipality of Peania returns on a unique route in Ymittos with breathtaking views.

Off-road race enthusiasts will have the opportunity to test themselves in the 10 km race, while a special 1,000m route is planned for elementary and high school students. Entries are open and another record is expected to be broken with the “Koutouki trail run 2026” attracting athletes from all over Greece.

The date is set for Sunday, May 10, 2026 starting at 09:30am at the iconic Koutouki Cave in Peania.

The “Koutouki trail run 2026” is addressed to athletes, but also to all athletes and non-athletes, regardless of their physical condition, who want to feel the joy of sports, improve their physical and mental health.

The purpose and basic objective of the race is the acquaintance of the participants with the special natural beauty of the route, tthe dissemination of ecological awareness, through the adoption of a friendly attitude towards the environment, thus promoting its protection.

The route is dirt, circular with a common starting and finishing point at the Cave Cave Kooutouki in Peania. The length is a measured 10km and the route will be supervised by volunteers. There will be first aid stations along the route, as well as water stations. The route has slight elevation variations, with no more than moderate difficulty. The race will be run in all weather conditions and the start time may be changed if weather conditions dictate.

Eligibility

Men and women born in the year 2010 and earlier are eligible to participate in the 10,000m race. Minors who wish to participate (see high school students) must have parental consent. Elementary and high school students are eligible to participate in the 1,000m race. There will be a maximum number of participants in the event, which is set at 500 for the 10k race and 150 for the 1k race.

The race entries will be filled when all spots are filled. Entries are personal data and are not transferable to any other person.

There will be a Secretariat at the start area and those who take part will be able to collect their entry number.

The distribution and collection of entry numbers will be completed 60 minutes before the scheduled start.

It is noted that the race is organized in cooperation with the Association for the Protection & Development of Hymettus (SPAY) and 100% of the proceeds from the 10km race will be donated for the purchase and planting of trees in Hymettus.
