A fierce confrontation between Panagiotis Doudonis and Zoe Konstantopoulou unfolded in the House of Representatives at the Session of the Conference of Presidents.
It seems that the competition in the so-called democratic and progressive arc is heating up as time goes by, with its protagonists no longer taking “facts” such as institutional behaviour into account.
So, in light of the PASOK MP’s agreement to the proposal of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nikitas Kaklamanis, for the new leadership of the Personal Data Protection Authority (PDPPA), the Parliament “lived” another unpleasant show, of the kind that Zoe Konstantopoulou lavishly offers, this time with Panagiotis Doudonis as her co-star.
It is noted that at today’s meeting, Nikitas Kaklamanis recommended the candidacy of Aikaterini Sygouna as the successor of Kosta Menoudakos, as well as Antonis Makridimitris for the position of Citizen’s Advocate, after evaluating 42 biographies for the vacant positions of independent authorities.
However, the identification of the Kaklamanis proposal with PASOK’s position provoked a reaction from the president of the Pleisi Eleftherias, who accused Charilaou Trikoupis of “colluding” with New Democracy.
“You are making fun of us, Mr. Doudoni. This is a major scandal and a major scam at a time when the major wiretapping scandal is unfolding,” he said, adding: “Yesterday you said on the phone you would not consent.” He even accused the MP of colluding with ND without Androulakis’ knowledge.
Doudonis said PASOK had proposed an open procedure, with the submission of biographies. “We are doing a meritocracy process that is needed to get out of the mire,” he said. “The authority is headless and serves cunning plans. I do not accept censure, I have an academic track record despite my young age!,” he replied.
The dialogue
The following dialogue is indicative of the tension that prevailed:
Zoe Konstantopoulou: You are in league with the Southwest. You are making fun of us, Mr. Dudoni. Are you serious? Does your president know what this means? We denounce Mr Dudoni’s attitude. This is a major scandal and a major scam. At the time when the major scandal with the wiretapping is unfolding!
Panagiotis Dudonis. We don’t want Greece to become a chaos!
At this point, voices from Zoe Konstantopoulou can be heard.
Nikitas Kaklamanis: He heard you attacking him for so long and he didn’t make a sound!
Zoe Konstantopoulou: He knows why he didn’t shut up!
Panagiotis Doudonis: He wants the Authority to be headless, he serves cunning plans! I do not accept blame, I have an academic career despite my young age!
Zoe Konstantopoulou: Don’t clap your hands! You are not ashamed!
Panagiotis Doudonis:You are serving a plan!
Zoe Konstantopoulou:Didn’t you say on the phone yesterday that you would not consent?
Nikitas Kaklamanis: You are rude, don’t interrupt my colleague!
Zoe Konstantopoulou: I’m rude, he’s slapping the hand!
Panagiotis Doudonis: We are doing a meritocracy process that is needed to get out of the gutter!
