Former ND MEP Stelios Kymbouropoulos is to take the helm of the National Accessibility Authority, as his appointment was approved by the Institutions and Transparency Committee of the Boulion Parliament.
The proposal was accepted only by New Democracy, as SYRIZA, Nea Aristera, Hellenic Solution, NIKI and Pleisi Eleftherias voted against, while PASOK and KKE declared themselves “present”.
State Minister, Akis Skertos, responded to the opposition’s attacks by noting that “the attempt to attribute political and partisan coloration is too much. Stelios Kympouropoulos comes from Civil Society, it would be a jewel for any party to have him in its ranks. He is a man of integrity. He has given credentials on how he can manage institutional positions.”
In addition, the Institutions and Transparency Committee also approved, with the votes of the Southwest, the appointment of Haralambos Tsekeris as chairman of the National Bioethics and Technology Ethics Committee.
