The debate in the Plenary was held in high spirits on Thursday, as Dimitris Kairidis and Zoe Konstantopoulou exchanged heavy language.
The parliamentary representative of New Democracy launched a personal attack on the president of Liberty Party, questioning her knowledge of international law and maritime jurisdiction.
Mr. Kairides, addressing the leader of the Eleftherias Alliance, said:
“Go back to your desks to learn the difference between national and international waters and then give us lessons”
Following his statement, the gazy MP used sharp characterizations, calling Ms. Konstantopoulou “representative of the 5”, making a clear reference to the parliamentary power of her party. At the same time, she urged her “to finally behave in a parliamentary manner”, adding the following regarding the shipping regime:
“You are not alone in having a monopoly on sensitivity. Beyond that, in international waters, whether south or west, once they are international, there are rights and obligations“
Closing his intervention, Mr. Kairides left clear allusions to the election period, linking the presence of Ms. Carstianou to the political tactics of the Electoral Alliance, noting:
“When Ms. Carstianou arrives, you will do a lot on the road to the elections“.
