Next week the announcement will be issued for 1,000 permanent doctors in the hospitals of Attica and the Region. The positions cover all medical specialties.
As Deputy Minister of Health Marios Themistokleous, speaking to the radio station “REAL FM 97.8”, the notice will remain open for 15 days, while the appointment of doctors in hospitals is expected to be completed within the next 4 to 6 months. As he stressed, these are permanent positions, aiming to further strengthen the National Health System and meet needs across the country.
The Deputy Minister of Health stressed that the National Health System currently has the most staff it has ever had. He said, “The National Health Service currently has the most doctors, the most nurses and the most other staff, such as technologists, paramedics and other specialties required for the operation of hospitals.”
He said that “within the year, 5.000 permanent recruitments and an additional 3,000 additional recruitments“, noting that the “net gain” for the system would be about 3,000 more staff than in previous years, taking into account retirements and retirements.
As for the issue of the ranches, Themistocleous said the problem has been addressed in almost all hospitals in the country, with the exception mainly of Attica Hospital.
“In Attica, there are still three hospitals that may have cots for some hours, but the picture has changed significantly.” he said and mentioned as an indication that in Evangelism, where previously there were always cots and the situation was similar to that of Atticus, today there is no cot.
For Atticus, Marios Themistocles noted: “There is a concrete plan of response. The problem will be solved with the completion of the new building currently under construction, as it will release 50 beds currently used by doctors for accommodation. The design is expected to pay for itself within about 12 months from today.”
