The 89-year-old man has been temporarily detained following his plea in court for the attack at the offices of FSA and in the Court of Appeal.
The 89-year-old man who on Tuesday morning opened fire at the offices of the EFKA in Kerameikos and at the Court of Appeal on Loukareos Street in central Athens, injuring a total of five people.
The 89-year-old was deemed temporarily detained after his plea today at the courts of the former Evelpidon school with the concurrence of an interrogator and a prosecutor.
In front of the interrogator, the accused is said to have repeated what he had said in interrogation. Namely that he had no homicidal intent and that he had been planning his attack for months.
“I had planned before Christmas to go to Yika, the Court of Appeal and Stratum to shoot without wanting to kill anyone. I wanted to do it in the winter because I can wear the trench coat to conceal the shotgun, but because I kept getting busy and the weather was passing and suspended and in a few days it would be May and it would start to get hot and I wouldn’t be able to wear a trench coat I decided to go.” the accused had reportedly claimed in pre-trial questioning, repeating the same allegations in the interrogation room.
Also the elderly man allegedly claimed that he did not want to kill so he shot himself in the legs, while stating that he did what he did because of the outrage caused by the non-issuance of his pension and the moppressive behaviour he faced.
Earlier, the elderly man arrived at the court to greet reporters and cameramen and was subsequently taken to the interrogation office to explain the crimes of attempted murder in a serial killing, aggravated case of unlawful carrying of a firearm inside a courthouse and aggravated case of unlawful carrying of a firearm.
The 89-year-old also pleaded guilty to the crimes of concurrently possessing a firearm for purse, consecutive unlawful possession of ammunition and cartridges, unlawful possession of firearms, consecutive disorderly conduct and threatening to commit a crime.
