Assault with vulgar language, Paul Polakis launched an attack on Stavros Papastavrou and Nikos Tsafos, calling them “agent“…
At a time when the country is struggling to balance between international challenges and its energy reconstruction, Paulos Polakis proved for the umpteenth time that the only “energy” he cares about is that produced by toxicity and politics… sidewalk politics.
With a crescendo that would be the envy of the darkest times of populism, the SYRIZA MP turned the floor of Parliament into a arena of insults, launching an attack that lacks any trace of seriousness, logic and bourgeois civility against the leadership of Ministry of Environment and Energy.
It is truly admirable the ease with which Mr Polakis hands out certificates… “agency”, baptizing as national treason every effort to modernize and wean from the outdated models of the past. The now graphic references to “agents of interest” and threats of “payments by any means”, not only do not convince anyone, but irreparably expose the party he represents.
Instead of arguments, Mr Polakis deployed his now familiar vocabulary, talking about “shoals“, “black tar” and “paraphernalia“, proving that the distance between him and the institutional role of MP is growing geometrically.
At the same time, the government, through Stavros Papastavrou and Nikos Tsafou, demonstrated a proverbial coolness, remaining focused on the substance of policy and the technocratic facts that serious governance requires.
The piteful spectacle of a politician refusing to accept reality and resorting to cries to cover up his lack of proposals is now the norm and not the exception for Mr Polakis.
As long as he is seeking… “actors” and fantasize conspiracies, the country will continue to modernize, leaving behind the toxic dust raised by those who only learned to do well is to insult, threaten and backpedal.
