Sharp discomfort was caused in the government camp by the aggressive characterizations of Nikos Androulakis on the case of telephonic interceptions.

Areaction was provoked today by the extreme expressions and the characterization “cowards” to which Nikos Androulakis had indulged earlier during his speech at Parliament, on the occasion of the events that preceded the morning session of the Conference of Presidents and the developments in the case of the watching.

“The president of PASOK continued his political downhill slide, and even from the floor of the Greek Parliament, using insults and toxic rhetoric, which is no different from the cries of the extreme political forces.

Referring to the issue of selection of presidents for three Independent Authorities, spoke of “coup” and “institutional aberration”, completely distorting the facts,” the government sources said.

And they added: “”Institutional aberration” for Mr. Androulakis seems to be the fact that for the first time the Parliament proceeded to a public open call for interest attracting notable candidates for the positions of the chairmen of the three Independent Authorities, even meeting a request from the president of PASOK. “Institutional aberration” for Mr Androulakis seems to be the fact that the President of the Parliament, through this procedure, recommended to the Conference of Presidents, for the two Independent Authorities, persons of high standing and known value“.

“On the contrary, it is not an “institutional aberration” for the president of PASOK, but an element of modern European democracy, that he planned in advance to torture the top procedure of filling the Independent Authorities and even in concertation with the most populist forces of the Parliament, as we are informed by the public squabbles that have broken out between PASOK and members of the extreme voices in Parliament,” the same sources continued, to conclude: “Once again Mr Androulakis appears below the circumstances. We will be back soon with more details, not pleasant for the PASOK president.”
