Change of weather today May Day with showers and strong winds (video)

Wintery is expected to be the setting for weather today Morning almost across the country, according to ERT’s meteorologist.

The main features of the weather will be severe drop in temperature, strong winds and heavy rainfall that will affect central and northern Greece most of all until the evening hours.

Today will be a difficult day across the country as rainfall will occur in many areas. Pmost severe weather is expected mainly in Thessaly, Central Greece and the Peloponnese, with continuous rain and a lot of cloudiness.

The temperature will remain low for the season, reaching 14 to 16 degrees Celsius in most areas. Only in western Greece, as well as in Crete and the Dodecanese, is the mercury likely to exceed 20 degrees. The winds will blow northerly northeast 4 to 6 and in the Aegean Sea 7 to 8 Beaufort. At the same time, late snowfalls in mountainous areas are not excluded.

In the central and eastern mainland, Cyclades and Crete cloudy with local showers. In the rest of the regions a few clouds, partly increasing with a chance of local rain and in the morning hours in the south possibly isolated thunderstorms. Topical snowfall will occur in the continental mountains.

Winds will blow from the north at 4 to 6 Beaufort and in the Aegean Sea at 7, locally 8 Beaufort. The temperature will drop slightly further and will be low for the season. It will reach 13 to 15 degrees Celsius in the north, 15 to 17 degrees Celsius in the eastern mainland, 17 to 19 degrees Celsius in the rest of the country and 20 degrees Celsius locally in southern Crete and the Dodecanese.

In the eastern mainland and the Aegean clouds with local showers and in Evia, the Cyclades, Crete and the islands of the eastern Aegean possibly isolated thunderstorms. Productively improvement is expected from the evening hours.

In the rest of the country,generally clear weather with occasional clouds, in the afternoon -afternoon, on the mainland and local rain or rain mainly in the mountains. Little snowfall will occur in the continental mountains and the mountains of Crete.

The winds will blow north-northwest, in the west 3 to 5 locally 6, in the east 4 to 6 and in the Aegean 7 to 8 Beaufort. The temperature will rise slightly in the west.

General clear weather. In the afternoon – afternoon on the mainland, spotty clouds will develop with a chance of localized rain in the mountains.

Winds will blow in the west from westerly directions 3 to 4, in the east northerly 4 to 5, in the southeastern Aegean 5 to 6 and locally 7 Beaufort with gradual weakening. The temperature will rise across the country.
